GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A also known as VRG Linhas Aéreas is a Brazilian low cost carrier based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. GOL Linhas Baggage Guidelines 

GOL Linhas Aéreas offers customers the freedom to carry ample baggage allowance. The baggage allowance depends on the route and destinations opted by the customers. 

• Irrespective of any class, passengers can carry two pieces of baggage including one personal baggage and one carry-on baggage. 
• GOL Linhas baggage allowance depends on the fare type purchased by the passenger. 

Personal Item 

• All passengers travelling in GOL Linhas are entitled to carry one personal baggage irrespective of fare types. 
• Maximum dimension of a personal baggage should not exceed 35 x 45 x 20 cm. 
• As per GOL Linhas baggage policy, personal baggage includes backpack, eco-bag, laptop bag, handbag. 

Carry-on Baggage 

• Passengers are allowed to carry one carry-on baggage that must not exceed the dimension of 55 x 35 x 25 cm with weight not more than 10 kg including wheels and handles as per GOL Linhas Aereas baggage policy. 
• If the carry-on baggage exceeds the standard allowance then the baggage will be counted as checked baggage. 
• The carry-on baggage should be kept in the overhead compartments. 

Checked Baggage 

The checked baggage allowance depends on the fare types purchased by the customers. As per GOL Linhas Aéreas baggage policy, Promo and Light fare are not eligible to carry any free baggage except personal bags.  Other fares such as Plus, Max and Premium Economy include either 1 or 2 checked baggage. 

• Each checked baggage should not exceed 23 kg and dimensions of 50 x 28 x 80 cm (158 cm). 
• However,if a passenger surpasses the checked baggage limit, then passengers will have to pay surcharges for additional baggage.

GOL Linhas Aereas Additional Baggage Charges 

Those passengers who carry additional baggage, will have to pay certain surcharges depending on the destination whether it is domestic or international. The airline advises passengers to purchase additional baggage via the website itself as offline purchase will cost extra.

GOL Linhas Aéreas Excess Baggage Policy 

Passengers who are carrying excess baggage have to pay extra baggage charges depending on their routes. Passengers travelling on domestic routes will have to pay R$25 per excess kg. On International routes, passengers will have to pay $8 USD per excess kg. 

Overweight Baggage 

As per GOL Linhas baggage policy, maximum excess baggage of 200 kg weight can be purchased by passengers. However, each baggage must not weigh more than 25 kg (100ibs) on domestic flights. Passengers will have to pay an overweight fee of $10 USD, R$35 BRL per kg. 

Frequently Flyers Members Extra Allowance   

As per GOL Linhas Aéreas baggage policy, members of Smile loyalty program are entitled to carry one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 10 kg and one piece of personal item. Smile members (Diamond, Gold, Silver members) can also enjoy several benefits. 

GOL Linhas Aéreas Infant Policy 

If a passenger is travelling with an infant on lap then the airline offers additional allowance for infants. The allowance includes 1 stroller, 1 child safety seat, or 1 safety carrier per child without any extra charge. However, as per GOL Linhas infant baggage allowance, no carry-on baggage will be allowed. 

On domestic flights, if other items are required to be checked in for the infant, then it will be considered as part of the baggage of a parent or guardian. 

On international flights, GOL Linhas allows infants to carry-on luggage weighing up to 10 kg.
