Volaris, officially known as Concesionaria Vuela Compañia de Aviacion, is an Mexican low-cost airline based in Santa Fe, Alvaro Obregon, Mexico City. 

The airline operates its major flights from its bases in Cancun, Culiacan, Guadalajara, Leon/Del Bajio, Mexico City and Monterrey. Volaris is known for being Mexico’s largest airline by transporting passengers on both domestic and international routes. 

Volaris Baggage Allowance Guidelines 

Volaris Baggage Allowance ensures that travellers carry appropriate luggage as per size and weight depending on their travel destination. Volaris baggage policy allows passengers to carry two checked baggage on flight. Passengers should abide by the baggage policy of Volaris to avoid any additional baggage charges at the baggage submission counter. 

Carry-on Allowance 

For domestic flights, Volaris allows 1 carry-on baggage and 1 personal item. The size of the carry-on baggage must not exceed beyond 22 x 16 x 10 inches (length x width x height). However, Volaris has several fare types with different baggage allowance. 

On Volaris Basic, Volaris Classic and Volaris Plus on Domestic Flights

• Passengers travelling on these fare types are allowed to carry one personal item and one carry-on baggage in the fare. 
• The weight of carry-on baggage should not exceed more than 22 pounds. 
• The size of baggage should not exceed 22 x 16 x 10 inches as per Volaris Airlines Baggage policy. 

On Volaris Basic, Volaris Classic and Volaris Plus on International Flights 

• Passengers travelling on international routes are permitted to carry one personal item such as briefcase, backpack, handbag. 
• Also, passengers can carry two checked bags with dimensions of 14 x 18 x 8 inches. 
• According to Volaris Baggage Policy, one carry-on baggage is permitted for every passenger. 

There are certain baggage fees for carry-on bags at different destinations depending on the high and low season.  

Volaris Checked Baggage Allowance 

As per Volaris Baggage policy, the checked baggage allowance varies based on the flight and booking class. Your ticket with Volaris will indicate the number of pieces you can bring along during your trip. The checked baggage allowance varies depending on domestic and international travel. 

Domestic Travel 

• As per Volaris Airlines baggage policy, Volaris Basic, Volaris Classic and Volaris Plus fares do not include checked baggage for flights within Mexico. 
• However, passengers can purchase additional checked baggage either online or at the check-in counter. 
• The weight of each checked bag must not exceed 55 pounds (25 kg) and the maximum linear dimension must not exceed 62 inches (158 cm) as per Volaris Checked baggage policy. 

International Travel 

• Passengers travelling in Volaris Basic and Classic do not include checked baggage for international flights. 
• However, those travelling in Volaris Plus fare are entitled to check one bag for free on international flights. 

Volaris Checked Baggage Fees 

As per Volaris baggage policy, there are certain charges for baggage fees that depend on different stages of travel. 

Excess Baggage Guidelines with Volaris Airlines

There are certain guidelines when it comes to excess baggage. Passengers with overweight carry-on bags will be considered as checked baggage. If the checked baggage limit exceeds more than mentioned in the Volaris Airlines baggage policy, then passengers will have to pay additional charges. Passengers can check in up to 5 bags in total after the baggage surpasses. 

Volaris Delayed, Damaged, or Lost Baggage 

In case of delayed, misplaced, damaged baggage, passengers can refer to below guidelines. 

Delayed Baggage 

If a passenger hasn’t received their baggage from the baggage carousel, then the passenger can visit the Volaris Lost Baggage counter immediately and fill in the form of Baggage irregularity Report. After the submission of baggage, as per the Volaris Baggage policy, the airline will strive to deliver the baggage within 24 hours. 

Damaged Baggage 

In case if the passenger notices any damage on their luggage as soon as they arrive, they can issue a baggage irregularity report. However, you must escalate at least 24 hours before the departure. 

Lost Baggage 

If the airline hasn’t located your baggage within 72 hours after your arrival at the destination airport, then the customer can request for a lost baggage claim form at the airport. 

• If your checked baggage doesn’t arrive with you then the airline will provide you with 250 MXN per day for up to 72 hours. The reimbursement amount is for their toiletries and daily essentials.
• As per Volaris Airlines baggage policy, the airline does not compensate for items like money, jewelries, artefacts, electronic devices, medication, fragile objects. 

Volaris Baggage Allowance for Infants 

As per Volaris Baggage Policy, the airline allows passengers to carry car seats for infants on both domestic and international routes. 

• Infants travelling on lap are not entitled for additional baggage allowance. 
• Passengers who purchased car seats from the airline are entitled to get priority boarding.
